About

I am a fully qualified Specialist Dyslexia Teacher and Assessor (approved by the British Dyslexia Association and Patoss. I hold a PGDip Dyslexia and SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).

I have experience working in primary and secondary settings both in the state and independent sectors. I offer a range of services to support children from age 9-18 from early screening and advice to full diagnostic assessments for Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties.

My reports can be used for Exam Access Arrangements and Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Applications in higher education.

I achieved my OCR Level 7 training with the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, to teach and assess learners with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs). I still work as a freelance assessor for the Centre in addition to my private work.

I am regulated by PATOSS, hold professional insurance and have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. As a PATOSS approved assessor, I am required to keep my skills up to date with regular professional development and training.

I have found that the assessment process is both fulfilling and essential as it provides many answers to questions parents may have regarding their child’s learning differences. The comprehensive diagnostic report also provides individual recommendations for how best to support their child both at school and at home.
